Look for a  photo gallery from Dana & Alyssa Williams’ trip to New York City for the Nesquik “Little Mo International Open,” which was held last week at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills. Their daughter, Avery, and partner Anna Babayan of Bradenton, Fla., won the doubles championship.

Also, Mary Lubinsky and daughter Anna Lubinsky Dickerson recently reached the Seniors final of the USTA National Mother-Daughter Indoor Championships in Vancouver, Wash. Here’s the tournament link (click on "Results" tab).

Aledo's Mitch Krueger recently turned pro, and already he has won a match at U.S. Open qualifying. He beat Argentina's Martin Alund (below, right) Wednesday, then lost to veteran South African Rik De Voest on Thursday. He is coached at the USTA's Boca Raton, Fla., training facility. Young tennis pro Ana Kharchenko was our houseguest for a week

We hosted Ukrainian Anastasia Kharchenko during the USTA Pro Circuit Classic at TCU (check out our photo gallery) during her run to the semifinals, and we learned that preparing for matches is not the hardest thing young pros do. Just getting oneself to any given tournament anywhere in the world and finding a place to stay can be prohibitively expensive and time-consuming. Willow Park's Scott Howell and son Ryan (serving) won three rounds at the U.S. National Grass Courts Father-Son Doubles Championships, July 16-18 at the Longwood Cricket Club in Boston. Like everyone at that club, they were required to wear all white. Thanks for the photo, Scott.

Mitch Krueger fell one game short of the Wimbledon boys' final.Aledo's Mitch Krueger reaches back-to-back junior major semifinals and mulls how to proceed with his bright future, while we say goodbye to our dear friend Lee Hamilton, whose inspiring memorial service in Dallas brought together Texas tennis players from near and far who loved the former local, state and national tennis executive. Congratulations to Keller's Shane Vinsant, who won his first pro title, teaming with Dallas native Harrison Adams to win the doubles at the Freeman Men's Futures in Joplin, Mo. Said Shane about his week in Missouri: “I like [Joplin]. It has a nice, small-town feel. The fast-food selection is unbelievable.Click here to see all the results.

Fort Worth-Dallas Tennis Community Will Miss My Longtime Friend and Source, Lee Hamilton PDF Print E-mail

I had the pleasure of seeing Lee Hamilton and his wife Molly at Davis Cup in Austin last summer.Dallas tennis VIP Lee Hamilton died of cancer June 16, ending our 12-year friendship as writer and tennis statesman. Lee was known locally, throughout Texas and throughout the entire USTA as a promoter and serviceman of our game, and we will miss him very much. Read about Lee in Lisa's Tennis Talk.

Aledo's Mitch Krueger lost a three-setter in the Wimbledon juniors semifinals Friday to Canadian Filip Peliwo, 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-3. Mitch's performances at Wimbledon and at the French Open, where he also reached the semis, got him talked about by commentators John and Patrick McEnroe, and interviewed by Justin Gimelstob.
