Richland Tennis Center pro Bobby Reeves is a highly regarded coach in these parts, and the many of the juniors who work with him are household names among their tennis peers, so it's no surprise that his Junior Team Tennis (JTT) squad just placed second in the USTA 14U Advanced National Championships in Surprise, Ariz., which was Oct. 20-23.
The Texas Tornadoes roster includes Rylie Cox, Preethi Kasilingam, John Molina, Eric Morris, Riley Reeves and Parker Wynn.
Reeves' team narrowly lost to a team from Alpharetta, Ga., 43 games to 39, even though the Texas juniors won three of the five matches, points out Teresa Risley. Risley, president of North East Tarrant Tennis (NETT), is as big a promoter of local junior tennis as she is of the adult variety, so I'm sure she felt the Texas kids had won the whole thing.
As far as TennisFortWorth.com is concerned, the Texas Tornadoes are No. 1--just like the Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers!
